CNY @ Lotte World (Part 3)

Finally, we were going to Lotte World. But first, a hearty breakfast at the hotel cafe. Yummy, yummy.

Yeah, we were now ready to go to Lotte World. Hurray.

A ride at the Carousel first, before watching the parade.

Huh? This is the mural featured in the Korean drama "Stairway to Heaven". Thot it was a big painting on the wall?

Going outdoor of the theme park was fun. Had a go at the kiddy ferris ride while MeiMei had her beauty sleep. Hee...

Finally, got a chance to bring the family for a spin and note that I'm the driver yeah.

While on our way to the monorail, we saw this. Daddy and Mummy had fun here too 10 years ago, wow, this is an antique.

Help! I'm locked up in jail.

Haha... Meimei to the rescue.

Aiya, I am slim enough to slip through the iron bars actually.

It's time to say goodbye to Lotte World.
Yes, we'll be back.

Bye, Lorry.
Bye, Lotty.

CNY @ Lotte World (Part 2)

Staying indoor is never a problem for my darlings, here's some of the fun they had in the hotel room.

The picture on the left was taken in the toilet. My Cutie loves to use the toilet bowl there cos' it's always warm (haha... it is the famous "Made in Japan" toilet bowl seat that has a heater and also water jet).

Next, see them having fun with their hair and the mirror.

"Mirror, mirror, am I pretty?"

It was fun jumping and bouncing on the bed and armchair too.

Even the umbrella from the hotel was not spared.

First, they are suntanning at the "beach".

The next moment, it was transformed into a "microphone".

My Sweetie then found a "microphone" that is suitable for her height.

It's fun to play with water in the bathtub too, you don't have to worry about catching a cold here .

The Characters Rooms are available in Lotte Hotel World too. It's well-liked by children.

Want to join us to read by the window and enjoying the night view outside the window?
But no footwear please.

Happy "Niu" Year

CNY @ Lotte World (Part 1)

It's CNY again, however it doesn't seem to be so here in Korea as there's no CNY decorations around wherever we go, tho' the Koreans do celebrate the Lunar New Year too. In Singapore, many would go overseas during this long holidays period. So we decided to bring the kids to Lotte World in Seoul, haha... and we don't have to pay for the air tickets.

We stayed at the Lotte Hotel World which is located just next to Lotte World, so it is very convenient and we got to see the outdoor theme park everytime.

Unfortunately, Daddy caught a chill on the day that we arrived. So we had been staying in the hotel room for 2 days and nights (had initially planned to go Lotte World on the 2nd day). It wasn't a bad idea actually cos' the tastefully-furnished hotel room and toilet were so warm and cosy. While Daddy was resting in bed, the kids got to play in the bathtub and Mummy got to enjoy some relaxing spa session of soaking in the bathtub (this would have been impossible in the bathtub in our house here cos' the toilet is too cold). We joined the 2 twin beds together and so you can imagine what a big bed we have. The cosy beds and comforters just made one wants to snuggle in bed, haha... My darlings also have a lot of fun jumping and bouncing on the bed. Seeing my 2 darlings playing together happily, I am glad to have 2 kids whereby they can keep each other company.

We finally went to Lotte World on the 3rd day and it's great that Daddy was getting better too. Daddy and Mummy had actually been to Lotte World in 1998 and amazingly everything is still exactly like before. Then we had tried the various exciting rides such as the Gyrodrop, Bumper Car etc.

Now with 2 young toddlers, bet you can guess that the rides that we took now were totally different from what we had 10 years ago. One of which is the Carousel rides which my darlings enjoy (guess they remembered the carousel rides they had while at the Daejeon Zoo few months ago).

But it was the family car kiddy ride which my Cutie loves most cos' she got the chance to be the "driver", bringing the family for a spin. Thus we ended up going for a few rounds of the ride. When we were back home late in the night (after 3 hours of travelling home, hee... of course driven by Daddy), we talked about her "driving" experience and she dozed off after a while, smiling.

Now they know who are Lorry and Lotty (the Mascots of Lotte World) after watching the parade and show. Will blog more about Lotte World in my other blog.

Tho' our tour itinerary was not going as to what we had planned and we were also unable to join in the various exciting rides, this has thus been the most enjoyable and relaxing tour that Mummy ever had. It's great to have our 2 darlings with us (tho' not with the logistics that comes along with, especially in this weather).

This is the 2nd CNY that we have as a family of four and bet it will be more enjoyable next year with both of them still in the toddlers stage but at a more independence stage then.

Will share more pics and videos soon.

The Little "Inventors"

Mummy is often amused by the "inventions" of these 2 little darlings of mine, using just simple daily stuff found at home.

First, what can you "invent" with a stool and a tin of milk powder?

Next, what can you do with 3 tins of different sizes?

Hee... my Sweetie has "invented" her own merry-go-round by putting the stool over the tin. Watch the video to see her having fun with her simple machine. This little Sweetie is also a big girl now, wanting to feed Snow White (a baby) the milk. So sweet, reminds me of my Cutie last year then.

And here's their next invention:

Haha... the 3 tins turn out to be a great piece of furniture for a cup of coffee. Aiya, Mummy could have saved some money (buying the stool) if she had thought of this earlier.

So bring your own tin if you are joining them for tea/coffee next time. Gee...

New Year, New Plans

Yes, it's now 2009. Mummy loves the New Year cos' it's often the time when she will remember to take stock of her life.

Mummy realises that she doesn't have much time to work with ever since we come to Korea. She has not been doing much activities with her darlings too as time passes by quickly everyday. She finds that she only has so little time everyday as her time is now packed with doing housework, cooking, taking care of the kids, outings and attending Korean classes.

Cooking is a must [ie. no "tapao" (takeaway or delivery)] cos' the food in Korea is practically the same day in and out. Mummy misses the tingkat meals catering (with 3 dishes + 1 soup) in Singapore and the great variety of food at our foodcourts and coffeshops. Outings (aka shopping at most times) is also a must to keep Mummy and kids sane, haha...

The only option is to cut down on the Korean classes which take up 3 mornings per week. Partly, 3 times a week is taking too much of my precious time. Also, usually it is the mornings that Mummy can blog and get most of her work done, before my darlings wake up. Then my darlings will have to wake up earlier than usual which resulted in them being grouchy throughout the day. It's also tough to get 2 young toddlers ready without additonal help (especially with the numerous clothings, jackets, gloves, socks and shoes to wear in this current cold weather). Do note they are 2 young toddlers who still need help in practically everything - drinking milk, going to toilet, dressing up etc. Have to thank God that my Cutie is able to wear her own shoes herself.

This New Year makes Mummy realise that she has almost lost her focus. The reason of me being a SAHM is to dedicate my time in nurturing my darlings during the formative years of their lives. Attending Korean classes is good to have, but not necessary to have (hee... will still be attending but not 3 times a week lah. Mummy will make up for the lost lessons by learning through the internet and the Korean CD herself.). Mummy also doesn't want to get herself stressed up going out in the mornings. Haha... dear friend, now you understand why I often don't want to meet you up in the morning then (in Singapore).

With a little "more" time, Mummy can thus plan and prepare the materials for the activities to spend with my darlings. Occasionally, Mummy can still make time for new friends and other outings with my darlings.

It's a good start of the year with good planning and a new house to stay. (Btw, my darlings had their first New Year Countdown Party in Daejeon and it was fun. The best part is that, just before midnight and after, it actually snowed lightly for about 5-10 minutes. It was cold then, but somehow it just feel so nice to be out there with the crowds. We also ate at one of the stalls. Hee... somehow the food tasted better when in the cold).
A belated Happy New Year to all. Here's an ice-cream cake which a friend brought over with his family, to celebrate with us. Isn't it beautiful? Yes and yet my darlings can't wait to eat it up. Haha... so did Mummy. Yummy, yummy. It's a nice feeling to eat ice-cream during winter too.

새해 복 많이 받으세요! Happy New Year.
