Punggol Jetty/ Beach

Today, Daddy was able to come back early.  Seeing that the weather was nice and cooling, Mummy decided to bring them to the beach at Punggol jetty to have some sand play before the sun set.

Though we've been here a number of times (to enjoy the sea breeze, views of the ships sailing towards Malaysia as well looking at the catch of those who came here to fish), this is the first time we were there for the beach.  My darlings have a great time playing with the sand and the beach tools that they had brought along.  They were "cooking" some delicious stuff, would you care to have some?  Hee...

RSAF Open House 2011

We were lucky to be able to go to the RSAF Open House prior to its opening to the public in the weekends.  However, the hot and humid weather didn't make the outdoor fun enjoyable.  My darlings got grouchy after staying a while in the open.

Look at my darlings in their "best" look (it's hard to under this weather) while up in the Apache aircraft (we didn't even have to queue since there wasn't much crowd).
Mummy had initially planned to stand in the hangar area to watch the aerial display, but realised that it was too far away and our views were blocked too.  So we moved closer to the grandstand area, but we didn't want to stay under the hot sun like the other spectators.  Luckily, there was a tentage to shelter the queue for the aircraft display.  Really can't imagine ourselves standing under the hot sun to watch the airshow.

Mummy realised that we shouldn't have wasted money to watch the Singapore Air Show last year.  We should have come to the RSAF Open House instead.  It's free admission to all and the crowd today is a lot lesser than that at the Singapore Air Show (haha... but think there will be when it's open to the public tomorrow).

After that, mummy brought my darlings to the Kids' Zone area.  Their faces lighted up immediately... cos' it's air-conditioned.  They had a lot of fun playing at the games stalls set up for children.  Glad that the visit ended up so fun and enjoyable for them.

Oiishi

Finally, we were back at our favourite Japanese restaurant again.  Ever since the Fukushima Radiator Plant incident in Japan after the earthquake and tsunami, mummy has been avoiding eating too much seafood and thus we have not been to this restaurant for a while.  See the happy faces on my darlings when we were back to enjoy the delicious meal again.  Yummy, yummy.

We are also very happy to learn that our Japanese friends are safe and sound (had been unable to maintain contact with them since the tsunami in March).  Had shown the tsunami's video to my darlings and they were shocked at the destructive powers of a tsunami.  We felt sorry for what the people in Japan had to go through.  Worst of all, other than tsunami, they had to deal with the radiation leak at the plant.  Life is so fragile, we should cherish what we have now.
