School Birthday Celebration for Sweetie

This little Sweetie simply loves Snow White and she even will acknowledge that she is Snow White herself, hee...

Tho' her birthday was yesterday, her celebration in school was held today as it is the 1st day of school after the holidays.

This Sweetie is very excited to wear a beautiful dress with her Snow White accessories and goodies bag, and not forgetting her Snow White water bottle and Princess bag.

Haha... bingo if you have guessed that she got a Snow White theme birthday cake too.

What a Snow White day.

Happy Birthday, little princess.

Ritz Carlton, here we come

With my Sweetie's birthday around the corner, Mummy and Daddy decided to make a booking at the Ritz Carlton, Singapore. Haha... isn't it weird that we got a home and yet still want to book a hotel in this little island of Singapore.

Well, since we were unable to go overseas this time during the school holidays (due to daddy's work commitment), staying somewhere local would be the next ideal choice.
No one could be happier than both my darlings.
Hee... guess anyone would too (in a 6-star hotel), with:

1) A big well-furnished bath area, having spacious bathtub and a big unique octagon-shape window;

2) A big comfortable bed to jump on and also is big enough for the whole family to snuggle together;

3) Great surrounding city views and a chance to look back at the Singapore Flyers from Ritz Carlton (vice versa the day before);

4) Watching this year's NDP flypast (tho' it's just a rehearsal, it's great watching it from the hotel room). Look out for the chinooks carrying the national flag on the right side of photo.

5) Great yummy food - cake with compliments from the hotel, plus even more great food and shopping at the nearby shopping malls.

My darlings love the stay so much that they even asked when we will be coming back here again.

Hee... glad that they had such a lovely time.

Happy Birthday, Sweetie.

Up the SIngapore Flyer

After my Cutie's performance, we went to our all-time-favourite Japanese restaurant (Ichiban Boshi) for lunch. For dessert, Daddy decided to try the ice peach momo ice-cream and guessed what, a "real" peach arrived, hee... The chef who made it, is truly amazing.
With a full stomach, we took a short walk to the Singapore Flyer. Finally, we were up this 165m World's Largest Observation Wheel. It was an enjoyable ride, the flight wasn't scary at all even when we reached the top (haha... even Yeye enjoys too).

For my darlings, they seem to enjoy feeding the koi at the pond more than the ride. Should have left them here instead and not bought the tickets for them. The money saved could have been used to feed the koi well for the day (the small packet of feed costs a dollar each), hee...

After that, we took a short walk to the Youth Olympic Games Park and the Helix Bridge. The weather was really great that day.

" That skyscraper with the octagon-shape window is Ritz Carlton Singapore. We'll be going there to stay tomorrow. Hurray!"

School Holiday Workshop June 2010

Sent my Cutie to a holiday Chinese workshop during the school holidays (my Sweetie was supposed to be in too, but unfortunately her school holidays only started 2 weeks after the gazetted school holidays).

The holiday lessons were conducted 4 days/week for 4 weeks. Mummy was a little regretful after signing up cos'... it would mean almost no school holidays for my Cutie, ie. for Mummy too, having to go for class almost everyday.

But after watching my Cutie's performance on stage on the final day, Mummy felt that the effort was worth it.

Mummy is glad that my Cutie can settle well in a new environment with new teacher and friends. Mummy is also proud that she did not cry nor refused to perform on the stage (she used to be very clingy to Mummy especially when in a new environment).

Mummy noticed that this Cutie is clever to adjust her standing position and not back-facing the audience, while towards the end of the video (unable to record the performance in full as the SD card for camera was full).

Well done, Cutie. *Muck* [A big kiss and hug from Mummy].

Would also like to take this opportunity to thank her teacher (潘老师) for being so caring and encouraging, and thus helps to ease my Cutie's anxiety in school.

Finally, this workshop is over. But this would also mean the end of the school holidays. Oh no...

Sandwich Face Making

After Sweetie's class, we decided to make some face sandwich for dinner. We had actually shopped for the ingredients at Cold Storage supermarket a few days ago, but just didn't have the time to do it. My darlings were very excited then and my Cutie enjoyed helping to find the ingredients that Mummy had put down on a list for her.

In the 1st video, watch my darlings telling you the ingredients that we used.

In the 2nd video, my darlings will show you how they go about doing it while at the same time, not forgetting to conveniently pop some into their mouth. Hee...

Daddy commented "What a healthy meal" and here's our family portrait.

Sweetie's Performances

After returning from Korea, Mummy was worried about my darlings' Chinese language (which is important in Singapore's education system). As they hardly had any exposure to the Chinese language (not even at home and least to mention no Chinese words/shows in Korea), thus their knowledge of the Chinese language is practically zero.

So both of them have started to attend some Chinese enrichment class. Mummy was glad that at least now they can speak some simple Chinese sentence and at least have some idea what others are talking about in mandarin.

During the last lesson of the term, Mummy was allowed to sit in and so managed to capture my Sweetie's performance (didn't have any for my Cutie as didn't thot of bringing camera for her class the previous day).

Mummy was proud of this brave little girl, see her individual performance below. This is what she read:
小小花狗 尾巴当手 摇来摇去 欢迎朋友

After class, while waiting for our pizza, she had some fun playing with her BIG microphone (ie. the balloon, hee...).

Meet the Snow Whites

Today has been a happy day with us winning the $80 voucher at the Ichiban Sushi Japanese restaurant as well as a $5 voucher at Parkway Parade. In addition, we have spent enough for both my darlings to go for the Disney Princess Makeover.

My darlings were very happy to be able to put on makeup (hee... just like Mummy) and best of all, to wear the princess costumes. See how pretty they both look, waiting for their photoshoot.

For this school holiday, Mummy had also brought them to other Meet-and-Greet sessions.

1) Looney Tunes with Baby Bugs Bunny and Tweety (didn't manage to find the photo)

2) Dora the Explorer and Spongebox Square Pant

Sweetie with the Computer

My Sweetie likes to follow whatever her Jiejie does. So altho' we have the pink Leapfrog ClickStart (as well as a Mickey Mouse television) for her to play with, this Sweetie just want to have fun with the monotone computer that the adult use. And even tho' she got 2 kids' laptop to play with (even got Dora her favourite character), she is often more interested to touch our "real" laptops.

So when Mummy got her to have some fun on the computer, you can see her beaming with joy and constantly telling me she can do it. Indeed, she did handle the mouse well and got the correct answers too.

Well done, Sweetie

Book-a-holic Cutie

My Cutie simply loves books that whenever we went to a book store, she would quickly grab a book and start reading. But her love for books really amazes Mummy, for even her activity books are also not spared. Often, she would read the instructions given and then complete the books on her own, without Mummy around to guide her. In the following video, see what happened when Mummy caught her busy with her book again (video was taken in April actually).

Got the newsletter from Ikea Smaland and there was a page with an encryption puzzle . Mummy has only shown my Cutie how to decode the 1st letter and then off she went to solve the whole puzzle herself. Hear her read out her answer to the Easter Alphabet Code. Gee... what a Cutie.
