9-month old Sweetie

Went for my Sweetie's 9-month assessment today. Here's here latest weight and length.

Weight: 7.8 kg (in the 25% percentile)
Length: 72 cm (in the 50% percentile)

Hmm.... she is already 72cm when 9-month old.... my Cutie was 71cm when 10-month old (was in the States then, din know about such thing as 9-month assessment). Now my Cutie was often mistaken as being a 3 or 4 year old kid (when in fact, she's not even 2 yet). So does that mean my Sweetie will be taller than her sister at the same age comparison next year? Will they mistaken her as a 4 or 5 year old kid then??? Oh my, I do not want my darlings to be too tall cos' hee.... will be harder to find boyfriends who will be as tall as them. *Sigh* Daddy's fault for being too tall (read from an article that a child's height will be in the range +/- 10cm of the average of the parents' height). Hee... actually can't blame anybody on this. This calculation is also not really reliable cos' if so, why am I much taller than both my parents?

Talking about my Sweetie, the first thing that came to my mind is her dimple. Gee... it's definitely my genes (cos' Daddy doesn't have any).

Now she doesn't ask (aka "cry") for her pacifier anymore. When given the pacifier, she will hold and play with it rather than putting it into her mouth. ???

She can now grab the water bottle on the floor and place it into her mouth. Haha... don't have to worry if she's thirsty. She was also caught a few times with the Magmag (waterbottle) straw into her mouth and drank the water in it. Too bad the magmag belongs to her Jiejie. Mmm... does that mean she's really to drink from straw??

Now, she's also an expert at climbing from the dunlop mattress onto our bed as you can see below.

It's another headache for mummy cos' now the big "playpen" is no longer safe to keep my Sweetie in anymore.

So rather than having to worry about her falling off the bed (bedrail doesn't work anymore cos' she will stand holding onto it and looking over to the floor), I let her move and crawl on the floor.

Yet the other day, saw her attempting to climb up onto the sofa. Thank God, she couldn't manage to. A few times also caught her letting go of her support and try to stand on her own (which she only manage a few seconds). *faint*

Mummy is glad that this baby is so adventurous, but pray that she will not attempt all these dangerous acts on her own (though it's part of their growing process).

To my Sweetie: Only attempt that when someone is around to watch over you, ok darling?

Hee... she will only reply with that sweet, sweet smile of hers. Lovely.

Babies Inc and Gogobambini

Today, my Cutie went for a half day trial at Babies Inc. Haha... supposed to be there at 8am, we ended up reaching at half past 9. Cos' we went to their old premises, then realised that they have moved. Thank God it's just nearby. Glad that the new premises is better.

We accompanied her through the Kindermusik lesson and teabreak session. My Cutie refused to mingle or respond to the caregivers/kids, except to us. But to my surprise, my Cutie was not crying when we left. Yet when I called up an hour later, I was told that my Cutie was crying away. I was actually enjoying my "freedom" without my Cutie at that time, but when was told that Cutie was crying for mummy, I just felt like rushing down to be with her immediately. But I stopped myself cos' I knew both of us have to learn to let go of each other for a while.

When I fetched her, I can't wait to hug her when I saw her through the window. Her eyes were teary and I can imagine how badly she must be sobbing away earlier. When she saw me, she was so happy and kept calling me to hug her. Guess she misses me a lot. Well, actually me can't wait either keke...

The caregiver told me that my Cutie only started crying some time when she realised that we were not around. Glad that they were able to notice my Cutie's interest for books. Relieved to hear that my Cutie ate the food that they provided for lunch and slept for about an hour in the afternoon (bet she will after all those crying).

After that, we went to Gogobambini. A fun and lovely place, not just for my Cutie, but also for my Sweetie. A place strongly recommended in building up a child's confidence level, imagination and fun.

Clap, Clap, Clap

See what great fun my 2 darlings have while in the cot.
Yes, my Sweetie is into clapping lately. Whenever she sees her Jie Jie (Cutie) clapping her hands, this darling of mine will clap hers too. Of course, plus her sweetie smile too.
Oh yes, my Sweetie can now stand pretty well on her own with support.

Sweetie vs Gong Gong

The Wii is fun. Kekeke... cos' it's not just for adults like us, it's fun for even both the young and old.

See Gong Gong (grandfather) got 3 strikes in bowling. Hee... but in the end, he still lost to my Sweetie by 1 point though he got a "turkey" at the ending.

Heehee... the truth is .... he was playing on behalf of my Sweetie too.

Modern Interesting Gadgets

Recently, can't help but amazed at the modern invention of mankind.

First, it was when we went to collect our car. We told the cab driver our destination and haha.., he asked us how to go??? Thank God daddy had brought along his GPS to guide the driver. Though we had used GPS in the States, just didn't expect the need to use GPS in a small country like Singapore.

But indeed we still do. First, everything in Singapore just changes so quickly within these few years and also we have not driven around in Singapore for a while. The GPS can help to provide various options of the shortest route, the quickest route etc., which is definitely useful to us. The best is that it can even tell us the estimated arrival time. We will be informed if there is any red light or speed camera nearby (note: not that we love speeding). Just that have never noticed in the past that there are so many of these cameras around. The accuracy of the GPS is simply amazing, thanks to the many satelites above us (there were 7 when daddy showed me).

Can't help but wonder why then our local weather forecast isn't as reliable at all, with the forecast always so general which is practically the same every day? Rather I'm quite impressed with the weather forecast in the States, cos' its accuracy is near 100%. *sigh* guess there's a need for some improvement in our weather forecasting report.

Last week, Daddy gave me the Nintendo DS limited gold edition which he bought from the States. I didn't know I would love it cos' I'm actually not a 'game' person. But I simply love playing the Brain Age and Cooking Mama games.

Why? The Brain Age game is necessary to keep my dying brain active and of course will improve my brain power. With Cooking Mama, hee... I can learn some cooking 'skills' and it's very fun. Sometimes, I have to blow to the mic and there's a 'sensor' to detect (as if I'm blowing at the dish). I remembered the "Game & Watch" game in the early days just only have the left and right buttons to press. The dishes shown in the game look pretty tempting too. Everyday, my Cutie just loves to watch mummy "cook" (hee... play).

Of course, there's another wonderful invention and that's the Wii system. We don't have to go to bowling alley/tennis court etc and we can just stay at home and do the same actions using the Wii controller and nauchak. So interesting.

Then, there's also the latest LCD television which I can just simply hook it up with my laptop and hee... there I will have a big computer screen. Here's what happen when I hook up my laptop to the television and play the Mickey Mouse "Hotdog" song from youtube (internet) for my Cutie.

Isn't all these amazing? Well, for sure, I'm amazed.

Sweetie's Independence

My Sweetie is now 8 months old already. She has grown up and she loves the mirror very much (keke... yes, just like mummy and her Jie Jie).

She is also beginning to mumble words like "pa" which makes her daddy very happy [*grin*, mummy was already happy in the same way few months back before, keke...].

Now my Sweetie can crawl quite fast already. She can also adjust from prone to sitting position on her own and vice versa.

Within this short time, she has also mastered to stand up on her own too. Guess she will learn to walk soon, maybe much earlier than her Jie Jie??? (my cutie was able to walk on her own when she's 10 months old).

Nowadays, she doesn't want to sleep in the playpen anymore. She will always sit up on her own whenever I lay her down.

Now she will also try to climb/stand on the playpen. It was so dangerous.

So placed her in a bigger playpen ( aka the "king size bed" makes up of 2 dunlop beds join together and all sides fence off, with 1 side adjacent to the queen size bed).

Guess it is quite safe for my Sweetie to stand on her own.

But now she wants to stand on 1 leg only...

*faint*, mummy is getting a heart attack soon.
