Abstract Art

Last week, got my Cutie to do a Happy Father's Day card for her daddy. Knowing that my Cutie loves to paint, so I got her to use the markers and draw on the card. After each picture, I would ask her what she had drawn and labelled it down.

When daddy came home in the evening, got her to give the card and the gift to him (ya, I know Father's Day falls on 15 June this year, well... 15 May can be one too, hee...). When daddy opened the card and asked her what she had drawn, amazingly my Cutie can remember/identify? her drawing. There are about 10 picutres and she can tell her daddy correctly what she had drawn (there are 2 crabs that she drew and she can identify them). Few days ago, daddy took out the card and she was still able to identiy them.

Glad that the artist knows what she drew, hee...

Belated Happy Mother's Day to All.

I can fully comprehend the pain of a mummy as I watched the news yesterday. It was about a child crying in pain who was hurt in the earthquake in Sichuan, China recently. I think the bones were broken and his mummy stood and sang next to him with tears in her eyes, hoping that her singing can help to lessen his pain.

Somehow, I can empathise with how that mummy is feeling then (guess I'm a mummy myself). Nothing hurts a mummy more than to see her baby in pain. At the same time, I think she is thankful that her baby is still alive.

Motherhood can create an amazing transformation in a woman's life. It gives her new meaning in life and also made her realise that she can be so strong and yet fragile in matters concerning her child. The bond between a mother and child during the 9-month pregnancy period is something that the daddys never get to experience, hee...

Just want to wish all mummies a belated Happy Mother's Day and pray for God's protection over our children and all the children in the world.

Btw, it was in the news on Sunday Straits Times that a SAHM (Stay-At-Home mum) deserves to be paid $23,000 per month based on the contribution and things she did for the family. Mmm, I'm a SAHM, guess I should speak to daddy about this, haha...

Naughty Sweetie

My Sweetie is no more one little baby that needs help in everything. She is getting more independent and daring as her 1st birthday approaches (end next month).

Now at 10 months, she can hold and drink from her milk bottle (aka more relax for mummy), shows signs of understanding as people talk to her especially "NO" (hee... got to stop her from pulling cables or place her fingers into the fans etc), loves to hi-five with people and chooses to smile if she likes that person etc.

The biggest headache now is that she is experiencing separation anxiety. Mummy finds it hard to get things done as I have to constantly lie next to her when she has her naps, else she will refuse to sleep and keeps on wailing away for mummy (even tho' her Jie Jie is in bed with her). My only comfort is to hear her calling "mama mama" (which warms my heart) as she cries for me.

She is also getting more adventurous. Now the fortress (aka big "playpen") is no longer safe. She can climb onto our queen-size bed and then climb over to the kid's sofa next to the bedrail and sit on the sofa. Now she is so daring as to try to climb over the bedrail too.

She no longer just stand next to the Step2 Picnic Table, she will crawl under it annd stand inside (see pict). *sigh*

Thank God she knows how to crawl out herself.

Many times, she will let go of her hand support and tries to stand on her own. It's great that she's learning to stand on her own, but ...

Here's a video of her drinking her Jie Jie's mag mag (yes, again).
