Prawning at Marina Country Club

Tonight, we went prawning again.  This time round, we went to the one at Marina Country Club.  It was an impromptu decision after their enrichment class which ended at 9pm.  So for the first time, we tried night prawning.  Either we weren't that good at prawning or the prawns were getting smarter, we only managed to catch 5 prawns during the 1 hour of fishing.  Haha... a bit miserable... but it's ok cos' it's late in the night already.

We brought the prawns home and cooked them immediately while they were still fresh.  Anyway, the quantity wasn't that many to make us full at all.  :)

My Sweetie was so sweet to imagine the fishing rod as a bow.  Maybe we could have a better catch if we got some arrows?

It seems to be the craze to go back to the good old days.  Love the aroma of coffee with toast.

Mid-Autumn Celebration with Yeye

Bought a pomelo, so we decided to celebrate the Mid-Autumn Festival with Yeye.  We also brought some mooncakes for him and their aunt.

Yeye took out his measuring tape to measure something.  An idea struck us and we decided to use it to measure the height of our darlings.

Haha... see how much they have grown.  No longer like ~50cm at birth.

Now my Cutie is 124cm and my Sweetie is 114cm.  Guess they will be as tall as Mummy soon.

Mid-Autumn Festival 2012

Time flies and it's Mid-Autumn Festival again.  We did not buy any lanterns for my darlings, my darlings were very happy to use the paper lanterns which we had.  Instead of putting the battery operated lights, we gave them real candles for their lanterns.  It was actually more enjoyable and meaningful to have candle-lit lanterns.

We had a walk around the park below with the lanterns.  My darlings held onto their lanterns carefully (maybe for fear that they might burn the lanterns, hee...).  After that, we had a lot of fun playing games using the candles.

What a memorable day.

Blackout Dining

Within a span of just 2 weeks and we had experienced 2 blackouts in 2 restaurants.  The first was when we were at Ichiban Boshi at Parkway Parade and the second was at Jumbo Seafood @Indoor Stadium.  Luckily, both blackouts were just for a short while.
Nevetheless, it was quite an experience to eat in the dark.  Gee... can you guess which photo was taken in the dark and which was taken when the lights were back?

Cutie lost her 2 front teeth

My Cutie has finally lost her 2 front teeth.

This was considered a bit fast as most kids actually lost them when they were in Primary One or Two.  Actually, this was not too bad too as it is better to have no teeth now than to lose them when one is older and would be more conscious of losing the front teeth.

Haha.... however, it looks weird to Mummy.  Hope that my darling's adult teeth will grow quickly.

(Wait till I find the photo, else look at the video posted on 9 September 2012)

Hard Rock Hotel

This year, we did not stay at the Ritz Carlton Hotel during the school holidays.  Instead, we went to the Hard Rock Hotel in Sentosa.

It was actually quite an experience for my darlings to see what the other hotels got to offer, than to constantly think of only Ritz Carlton Hotel only.

We love the pool in the hotel.   There are actually sand in the pool, which made us feel as if we are at the beach.  See the little mermaid that we 'caught' at the pool, hee...

The hotel room decor is also quite tastefully done.  The bold purple colour in the room is quite unique as compared to the common colour in most hotel.

The only drawback is that there is no bathtub in the room.  Nonetheless, the pool nearby makes it up.

The next day, we went to the Maritime Museum and my darlings were able to tell us what to expect especially inside the Typhoon Theatre.  They had actually been there on one of their school excursions.

It was wonderful experience at the Hard Rock Hotel, maybe next time we should go to the Festive Hotel and stay in the Family Room.  Great idea ...

(Wait till I find the photo, found this draft post in 2015)

My Cutie's first Writing

Here's the first piece of writing by my Cutie done on her own (without much guidance from her teacher who wanted to find out what was their writing level) at age 5 then.  Her teacher was quite impressed and so got her to rewrite and paste it on the notice board.

So proud of you, darling.

Movies times

Though we are back in Singapore for about 2 years, my darlings had already visited the cinema a number of times.  My Cutie has not even turned 6 yet.  They are really blessed as I remembered my first visit to the cinema was when I was in my teens then.
The last few shows that we had watched are "Rapunzel", "Puss in Boots" and "Happy Feet 2".  This time round, Mummy has brought them to watch "The Lorax".  My darlings enjoyed watching the show in the cinema.  The sound effect and the individual seat for each of them seemed to add on to their enjoyment.  Guess that's part and parcel of the growing up process, not forgetting they are getting more and more independent.  At this age, asserting their independence matters.

The show was nice too.  Dr Seuss' books are great too.

Buying their own food

Once a while, Mummy will get my darlings to buy things on their own while I guide them from the side.  This time round, Mummy just sat at the table and got both of them to buy this Orea ice-cream from MacDonald.  See how excited they were and the pride they had for successfully buying things themselves.  Gee... no wonder they said the ice-cream tasted super delicious today.

CNY 2012

It's Chinese New Year again.  As usual, we would pay respect to their great-grandmother.  My darlings were very excited and they are getting to have a better understanding about Chinese New Year - CNY songs, foods and hongbaos.

This year, we had also attended a few CNY functions.  My darlings are also more settled to attend events with us and do not stick to us like glue anymore.  Hmmm.... wonder is this good news or bad news?  Never the less, Mummy finally can have a breather now with them getting more independent.  Happy New Year to all.

Look at the helicopter behind them.  It was the same helicopter that Daddy and Mummy had taken during our wedding photoshoot, except that the helicopter was not at this location then.  Bringing back sweet memories of the past... ...

Going to School

Yeah, it's a new year for everybody.  With Mummy going to the workforce, my darlings have to go for full-day childcare.  Look how excited they were to go to their school early in the morning.

This photo was taken at the open field near their school.

Happy New Year 2012

It's 2012.  For the first time, we brought them to a countdown party near our house.  For years, Mummy knew that there will be fireworks performance here near the riverside, but we had never participated in any.
Yesterday, at around 11.45pm, since we were all still awake, we decided to join in the fun.  We were surprised that at the wee hours, many of the residents had gathered here to watch the fireworks too.

After the countdown, it was the moment that my darlings were waiting for.  They simply love to play with sparkles.  Luckily, Mummy bought the "smokeless" type so there is lesser fumes and smell.  Daddy requested Mummy to buy the longest type next time as he was very busy helping his two princesses to light up new sparkles every now and then.  My darlings enjoyed dancing to the rhythm too.  Watch them here.

It's going to be a brand new year for us with Mummy returning to the workforce and both of them going to childcare centre.  This year's gonna be a great year for all of us.  Hurray.
