Confidence-building Sessions

Been going round from malls to malls to meet the cartoon characters. Seeing my Cutie gaining confidence with each outing session, it's really worth the effort to squeeze in with the crowds.

1st phototaking session - wailing loudly on stage.

2nd phototaking session, clinging tight onto mummy.

Almost froze to the ground at the Dora and Boots performance (cos' she has only "met" them on television before). No phototaking session, but still nice to be able to hug Dora the doll.

That handshake with Spongebob Square Pants must have left a deep impression on her. Now, she will say "punchbox" (Spongebob) instead of Patrick whenever she saw them.

At last, at ease with the characters.
[having some problems with the camera]

Finally, willing to go solo with the characters.

[Hee... happened to bump into this Santa Claus at Punggol Plaza foodcourt.]

After meeting the various characters, my Cutie was thus able to form associations with what she saw on television. She will say "Amanda, hug, hug" (referring to her photo-taking sessions and hugging the characters). Now, she is better at distinguishing them, eg. she will say "Care Bear" and not "bear". Now, she will glue to television to watch the Mickey Mouse Clubhouse Cartoon (previously, she only looked out for Donald Duck and Daisy cos' have these 2 soft toys at home). Been hearing her saying "hotdog" (Mickey Mouse Clubhouse "Hotdog" tune) or "Meeska Mooska Mickey Mouse". So cute.

We had gone to PP again and this time round, my Cutie was more confindent in venturing around the Interactive Media Floor on her own. We also went to the Tanglin Mall for another round of snow experience (tho' PP also has the "snow" session, it's not as fun as that in Tanglin Mall). This time round, my Cutie was fully prepared with her raincoat and cap (so that her whole body won't be so soapy after that). My Cutie simply loves the "snow".

Fun sessions at Tumble Tots.

6-month old Sweetie

Yeah, my Sweetie is 6-month old today. She's a big baby now, guess she will be another tall girl next time, just like her sister. Look at her, she still likes to give her sweetie smiles to whoever playing with her.

Now, she is able to sit on her own for a short while, guess by next month or so, she will be able to sit fully on her own. She's also an expert in flipping to and fro now.

Her grasp for things is getting better. The other day, saw her take out the pacifier in her mouth and then put it back herself. The worst part is that she's now into the stage of putting everything into her mouth to explore. Yucks, yucks, saliva everywhere.

The best is that she is able to call "ma" and say "myak (milk)" now. Though she's a Sweetie, she is still like any other babies (hee... only knows how to express themselves through crying).

Here's the video, can you hear what she says? Sweet, cos' very pleasing to her mummy's ears (calling mama).

Sweetie and Cutie and their first swimming session

Hurray, my Sweetie can now flip back on her own. I can still remember vividly how excited I was last year when my Cutie can achieve this. Time really flies.

Cos of her new ability, my Sweetie can now roll from Point A on the bed to Point B, to the extent of endangering herself to fall off the bed. So will be making a new arrangement to the 2 single dunlop mattress in the room. Currently, they are stacked together to form a single bed for my Cutie to sleep, so if I lay them side by side next to the queen-size bed (so I will have a "king-size" bed for my darlings while I re-occupy the queen-size bed, hee...). Yeah, then no more worries of Sweetie falling off from the bed.

For months, my Cutie has been playing with my bedroom slippers (wearing them and walking around the house). Then she changed target to the shoes/her sandals on the shoes rack. Today, was surprised that she managed to wear them on her own and can tell that she really enjoyed the process. Another achievement for my Cutie.

Recently, whenever she saw the mamypoko advertisment on TV, she will pat her backside and said "Amanda, no pampers". Cos the first time she saw this ad, I told her that she's a good girl and point to her that she is a big girl and so don't wear pampers anymore. I'm glad that she's potty-trained and that she always asked to pee on the toilet bowl. She will point to the toilet bowl and said "mummy, lert bowl".

In fact, my Cutie has began to form simple sentences eg. "I eat starfruit pease (please)", "hold hand", :"come back" (ie. I'll be back), "Mei mei cry/sleep ready (cries/sleeps already). Now when she asks for permission, she will say "May I, phone?" (ie. wants to have the handphone). For record purpose, she can now say the words associated with each letter in the alphabet. When she sees the letter "E", she still continues to hum the Elmo song and then said "Elmo". When she sees the letter "L", she also will roar and then said "lion". Cute.

It's a joy that she's learning and growing up, but dunno is it a joy that now she's starting to ask mummy to buy this and that. The other day, while in the cab, she said "buy taxi" (*faint*).

Fun at Orchard

With Christmas around the corner, there were many children shows held at various shopping malls. One of them is the Dora Live Musical Show at UE Square.

As the show will end this weekend (which I only realised on Thursday), which means to avoid weekends, I have only yesterday to see. So off we went.

Oh my, my Cutie was really excited to see Dora and Boots "in person" until she was like frozen to the ground. She didn't get a chance to get up close with Dora (ie. phototaking) as we couldn't be there earlier for mummy to shop and spend the minimum amount, to exchange for a phototaking session with Dora. However, my Cutie was happy enough just to hug Dora (the doll) and walk around the Dora exclusive sales area. See how she pat Dora on the shoulder, so tender-loving.

After that, there was a Sponge Bob Squarepants & Patrick Meet & Greet session. My Cutie got to touch the hand of Spongebob Square Pants. She was like so fascinated that she also wanted to touch his hand on the wall. Amazingly, my Cutie still remembers Patrick (a toy which was first given to her by the Singapore Airlines last year when she's just 4 months old then but now - missing).

Since we were near Orchard area, I decided to bring my darlings to Tanglin Mall to see "snow". Though the snow is just actually bubble soap foam, it was quite fun to be experiencing winter without the harshness of the bitter cold weather. As my Cutie is always mesmerised with bubbles, so you can imagine what great fun she has then.

Who's Imitating?

Recently, my Cutie likes to imitate whatever she sees.

Watch this video. Initially, I'm sure that it's my Cutie imitating my Sweetie. But after a while, I'm confused. Can you tell?

Just find them so amusing.

Enjoying each others' company

Sweetie's Successful Flip and her TLC "mummy"

My Sweetie managed to do a successful flip on her own few days back (finally). She has been trying to flip for quite a while, but somehow just couldn't manage to (maybe her arm power still not that strong yet).

Today, her temperature went up in the evening. Guess she must have caught the virus from me (who was feeling unwell yesterday). Thank God her fever subsided at night (with mummy's TLC - tender loving care). The mummy is not referring to me, but her sister who is acting like a mummy.

"How are you feeling?" ------ "Let me give you a pat."

"Plus a kiss." ------------------ "Let me check your fever."

Smiles :) ----------------------- "Thank you"

"Actually, I'm eyeing this." -- "But I still love you."
