A Parade for Papa

Daddy has taken over a higher command position and there was a parade held for the changeover.

It was a new experience for my darlings to be in a real parade.  They were very excited even at the beginning, when they saw their names on the seats allocted for them (just as mummy's).  In the past, my Sweetie would always want to sit on Mummy's lap (even tho' there were a seat for her).  But that day, she chose to sit on her own.  Either she felt it was a special seat for her or that my Sweetie has really grown up and wants to be independent now.  Mummy was really glad that they were very well-behaved thru'out the parade.

If not for their enrichment class after the parade, we would have gone to the Jumbo Seafood Restaurant for a dinner celebration (which of course, includes yummy crabs).  Nonetheless, we had an enjoyable dinner too at the NYDC restaurant.  After a quick dinner and sending them for their classes, Daddy and Mummy got to enjoy a 2-some dinner.

No photo to share as no camera allowed in the restricted areas.

Tanjong Pagar Train Station

After shopping at Vivio City, we decided to drop by the Tanjong Pagar Train Station since it will be closing down soon and since we have never ever been there before.

At the train station, we felt a sense of unfamiliarity as the place was filled with Malaysia's flag, symbols and malay languages on most signages.  The place is a little rundown, but does not erode the magnificent look of the old colonial building.

It was a unique experience for my darlings to be there and to be able to see a train stopping at the terminal.  For Mummy and Daddy, it was an experience for us too - sipping our cup of teh tarik (of course, ice-cream for our little ones) and watching people alight from the train.

We felt as if we were in Malaysia with all signboards mostly in Malay language and felt a sense of slower pace in life there.  We felt as if we were on a a great, short getaway from the hectic lifestyle in Singapore.

Do drop by for a visit before it was gone forever.
There's a train (just arrived) in the background.

Playground Fun

For the first time, we brought our darlings to the Punggol Park.

We were there for a rollerbladding lesson (which is the next best since Mummy couldn't find any class on ice-skating).  After their previous ice skating session, my darlings were braver now to take on the challenge.  They were very tired after the lesson, especially so for my Sweetie as the rollerbladding shoes seems a little heavy for her small size.

After our lunch, we saw a playground nearby and so let our darlings have some fun there.  My darlings love going to playground and my Cutie loves the swing (as usual).

It was simply a day of fun.  Yahoo....

Going to School together

My Sweetie is very excited that she can now wear the same uniform as her Jiejie.  Similarly, my Cutie is glad to have someone to hold hands with after bidding goodbye to Mummy.  Life is also getting better for mummy, with both of them getting more independent - brushing their teeth, putting on powder, wearing their uniforms and shoes etc on their own.

Tho' my little Sweetie is a little apprehensive being in a big environment on her, Mummy is glad that she is very brave and did not cry in school.

My Cutie is also very sweet to help to take good care of her sister and make her feel at ease in school (as the K1 level only starts school 2 days later).

Here's a video of them having fun cycling on my Sweetie's 1st day of school.

New Year New Resolutions

This year is gonna be a great year for Mummy, with both my darlings attending the same school same session and with them getting older and sensible.

When they go to school in the morning, Mummy can have a few hours of personal time.  It will be a good break from the kids and time for some reflections and thinking.  After dropping them in school, I can also go for some exercise like jogging or swimming.  Mummy has also signed up as member at the Amore Gym and thus will be heading often to the gym and classes.  There is also the newly bought Kinect (for Xbox360) and the Yoga game that we have bought.   Guess my darlings will be happy to see a slimmer mummy too (tho' I know they will love me just as much no matter how I look, hee...).

Mummy promises that it is going to be another year of fun and joy planned up for the family.  May God bless both of you to be forever happy and lovely.

Mummy also prays that my No-pay leave can be extended till the end of the year, so that there won't be any  major disruptions to our lives this year.  Amen.
